Featured Artist Steve Nyaga(Kenya)

Steve Nyaga, a prominent painter, was born in Nakuru, Kenya, in 1978 and currently resides in Nairobi. He is highly regarded for his outstanding expertise with pastels, charcoal, and acrylics on reversed canvas, effectively capturing   deep emotions and feelings through his artwork. His creative inspiration largely stems from African scarification and body art, which form the foundation of his celebrated African Beauty series.

Nyaga holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts. His artistic journey took a significant turn with a notable project “African beauty series” (2019-2025), where he developed his unique style.

His work has garnered widespread recognition and has been exhibited in prestigious venues; International School of Kenya (ISK) and TEDx at ISK in 2024. He has held solo exhibitions at notable locations such as Noir Gallery, Peponi  Hotel, Diani Hotel, The Lawfords Hotel in Malindi, Kenya, during (2022- 2023),  as well as at The Talisman Hotel in 2019. Additionally, he has participated in group exhibitions at venues like the Kenya National Museum, Samsung TV (2021-2022), Singulart, and Icanvas.

In 2019, Nyaga was recognized in the Kenya on Canvas competition by Safaricom, establishing him as a prominent contemporary artist with an impressive exhibition record.
