When a hot body is placed in open air, it loses its heat to the environment. Dissipation is irreversible and it involves a transformation of energy (internal, bulk flow kinetic, or system potential) from an initial form to a final form whose mechanical work capacity is less. This process produces entropy at a finite rate.
Likewise, we tend to spend a lot of our energy in building a reputation that others can accept. We accumulate material goals that serve to feed our egos. We often feel good when we share our hard-earned achievements to others, enabled especially by social media platforms, as shown by the collaged cutouts of social media icons. We dissipate all this energy as we struggle to belong; but are eventually left without the most important aspects that make us different and unique.
Question is : What are we actually chasing?
The background is a collage of graph paper cut-outs, layered in such a way that they form an infinite pattern, showing how endless this cycle is.
